This poem is talking about Friends. Virtually each one of of us are friends to other people and we also have friends. But do we really have Friends who can stand with us during our difficult times, times when we have problems and need a shoulder we can rest on? 

This poem is about pain. Its difficult to understand other people's pain even when they try to tell you about it. We all feel different kinds of pains, it could be as a result of injuries, too much work, old age, and so many other things, but this poem isn't talking about those kind of pains. The poem is talking about pains as a result of betrayal, heartbreak, loneliness, denial of your fundamental human rights and things that deal with emotions, feelings, thoughts and behaviours not injuries. But one things with this pain is that, if you are patient, strong and tough, one day this pain will be useful to you. Without pain and sacrifice, we would have nothing, so you just have to be strong and not let the pain finish you. New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.
